Overload (To the Tune of “Sixteen Tons†by Tennesee Earnie Ford) Ya teach a class full of kids, and whadaya get, A lot of noisy children and little respect Mr. Principal don’t call us ‘cause we can’t go, ‘Cause this curriculum’s causin’ overload. Some people say that humans were made out of mud, But teachers aren’t made, it’s in their blood Mr. Principal don't call us though it’s in your hands, We need more time for these lesson plans. You give us a class full of kids now whadaya expect, So many, IPRCs and lEPs we are wrecks Mr. Schoolboard please help us cause we’re sinkin fast, We need more teacher’s aides in our class We go to work early and we come home late; We get no over time and the money ain't great. Mr. Schoolboard we’re tryin', but we’re goin’ down, We need more help and without it we’ll drown To our families we are strangers cause we always have work, It seems that they're the ones, who often get shirked Please talk to the school board and the ministry, Please Mr. principal carry our plea. We need, training, we need laptops and we need a smart board, We’re told to teach technology but you can’t afford The type of training necessary for this tech, Mr. Schoolboard what do you expect? You can't, over work us then ask us for more, Or this job is something we will come to abhor We’re trying but please help us ‘cause we’re sinkin’ fast, We need more teacher’s aides in our class.
